I started tutoring about four years ago as a volunteer, simply wanting to help other students feel more confident in subjects that once challenged me. What began as a way to give back quickly turned into something I genuinely loved, and I eventually continued tutoring as a paid role. Since then, I’ve worked with over 30 students in math, science, and English, and I’ve been proud to see each of them make meaningful improvements in both their grades and confidence. One thing I’ve learned is that tutoring is not one-size-fits-all. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my approach to match their needs—whether that means breaking concepts down step-by-step, using real-life examples, or focusing on practice and repetition. My goal is always to meet students where they are and help them build a strong understanding at their own pace. What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing that moment when things start to click. Even more than improved marks, I love when students begin to enjoy the learning process—when they feel more comfortable asking questions, engaging with the material, and even having fun during our sessions. That combination of growth and confidence is what makes tutoring so rewarding for me.
